Ghazipur, Delhi-UP border

Situation is tense at Ghazipur on Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border as the protesting farmers have been given an ultimatum to vacate the place. Section 144 is in force and there is heavy police presence. The border has been barricaded on both the sides. 

Since today morning, water supply to the protest site has been stopped. Farmers are bringing water from the neighbouring villages in water tankers. 

Meanwhile, while addressing the farmers at Ghazipur, Rakesh Tikait, the leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union, said he will not surrender for arrest and alleged the government was conspiring to end the farmers campaign against the three central farm laws. He also said that those who broke the permission conditions of the tractor rally, which lead to chaos and violent clashes on the Republic Day, were not related to his organisation or the protesting farmers.

Farmer leaders have also been issued notices. FIRs have also been filed. However, Tikait said he would not move out of Ghazipur border and the farmers protests will continue.
