Each storytelling show is about two hours long as Misra will narrate stories centred around love, nostalgia and thrilling drama. He will also sing songs, from movies, and independent songs that are written and sometimes composed by him. His band accompanies him on the national storytelling tour whose details shall be updated regularly on his website here.
“A storyteller is nothing without his listeners and there is no greater joy than to be able to narrate stories to a live audience. It is the greatest privilege,” said Neelesh Misra.
Misra is an award winning journalist, author of five books, a media entrepreneur and a Hindi film lyricist. His work has straddled diverse media formats, from some of Salman Khan’s biggest films to music, and content from India’s rural landscape through his venture Gaon Connection, which is India’s biggest rural communication and insights company.

In 2011, Misra revived the dying art of storytelling in India with his primetime show, “Yaadon Ka Idiot Box with Neelesh Misra” on 92.7 Big FM across 50 cities. It is one of the most awarded radio shows in the country.
Misra’s work has spawned a new genre of audio and spoken word content in India, leading to the creation of tens of thousands of podcasters, Open Mic artists and writers inspired by stories in his show.
His work has since been followed by tens of millions of listeners on radio stations, audio streaming platforms and YouTube. His listeners range from children to the elderly, cutting across geographies and demographics.
