On day 1 of registration for COVID19 vaccination on the CoWIN site by 18-45 years age group people, the site has run into rough weather. Initially the site ‘crashed’ and later the users complained of OTP issues because of which they were unable to register themselves.
It is from today, April 28 at 4 pm, that registration for above 18 years people was to start for vaccination as the country enters third phase of the COVID19 vaccination campaign. The actual vaccination for 18-45 years category people kicks off from May 1.
But, as soon as the clock struck 4pm, users reported they were unable to access the CoWIN website. These reports were all over social media. Once the website became accessible, many received an error message saying: “CoWIN server is facing issues. Please try later.”
While some struggle to open the CoWIN website, some are unable to obtain an OTP, which is required to complete the registration process.
A tweet by Aarogya Setu confirmed that the Cowin Portal was facing ‘a minor glitch at 4 PM’. As per the app, the problem has been fixed.
Everyone above 18 years of age in India is now eligible for the COVID19 vaccination. If you are 18 and above, you can register yourself on http://cowin.gov.in, Aarogya Setu App and UMANG App.
