The Rajasthan government has introduced a scheme to help farmers fence their lands and protect them from stray cattle. Under the National Food Security Mission Tilhan, which plans to make India self-sufficient in oilseeds, the farmers in Rajasthan will be helped to put up chain link fences around their farmlands.
As per the state government’s recent announcement, the government will pay a grant of 50 per cent or up to Rs 40,000 to each farmer for the fence.

This scheme and grant will be available on a first come first served basis and farmers are invited to apply online on the Raj Kisan Sathi portal. The scheme is available to all farmers. Three or more farmers can get together and apply for the scheme and they must have a minimum of three hectares of land. But, the farmers cannot electrify these fences.
The Raj Kisan Sathi portal provides the specifications and measurements of the kind of fences the farmers can erect, and the documents he or she needs to furnish in order to avail of the scheme.
Trusts, societies, educational institutions, religious institutions, places of worship, etc., cannot avail of this scheme.
