A day after 53 districts in the state reported no new COVID19 cases, the Uttar Pradesh government today announced that the Sunday lockdown has been lifted. Prior to this, the shutdown of markets and dining restaurants was lifted on August 11.
However, state government’s order underlines that COVID-appropriate behaviour has to be followed throughout the week and any deviation from this is subject to legal action.
The previous lockdown regulations banned dining in the restaurants and the markets remained shut on Sundays.
As per the latest orders, movement of persons is now permitted between 6 am and 10 pm on all days of the week which essentially means that the night curfew is still in effect.
