Protesting farmers’ umbrella body SKM forms committee to negotiate with govt on pending demands

SKM leaders also informed that they will not move their camps from the Singhu Border until legal cases filed against farmers are withdrawn and also demanded an assurance in writing for the same.

Rakesh Tikait announced that the next meeting of the Morcha will be convened on December 7 to decide the future course of the farmers' movement.

Two days after President Ram Nath Kovind signed the legislation to repeal the three controversial farm laws, protesting farmers’ umbrella body Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) constituted a committee to negotiate the pending demands with the Union government.

Farmer leaders Balbir Singh Rajewal, Ashok Dhawle, Shiv Kumar Kakka, Gurnam Singh Chaduni and Yudhvir Singh were reportedly named the members of the committee after a meeting was held in the national capital by the SKM.

Rakesh Tikait, the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) announced the formation of he committee earlier in the day.
